The Ghost Goes to Kordar: A Ghost of the Wastes Novella (Ebook)

Before Arclight. Before the glamour. Before he was anyone's quiet scholarship student, he was the most dangerous name on the mercenary boards.

Kordar is a plane of forests stacked into the sky, standing over a font of mana pure enough to rewrite the price of power across every court in creation. An Orthodox war-order has come to take it. They want the greenheart. They want the matriarchs. Most of all they want the Chieftess of the Omazan brought to her knees in front of the right man. The Omazan are the finest fighters on their world, and they are losing anyway, a mile of daughters at a time, because winning a field has never been the same as winning a war.

Then a child with no rank and no army puts a plea on the mercenary boards, offers everything her dead Mothers left behind, and one line answers with no price attached.

Hold tight. I am coming. GOTW.

Thessaly the Scion has hired the Ghost five times in five years. She met him when he was thirteen and decided, that fast, exactly what he was allowed to be to her. She has called him little brother ever since and kept the wall precisely that high, because the wall was safe.

On Kordar, the wall comes down.

Two matriarchs circling the same man. A landless nation with nowhere to stand. An army without end at the door. And an eighteen-year-old walking apocalypse who will burn five hundred men to keep twenty orphans breathing, and still refuse to be paid in people. This is the contract that turned a legend into a home, and the night the Scion finally stopped lying to herself about the boy she swore was off-limits.

A Ghost of the Wastes side story, set roughly ten months before the events of Volume One.

Reading order note (from the Kordar listing): The Ghost and the Scion, earliest (Thessaly 20, Cale 13, first meeting in the Hidden Valley). Virex Caelum, "The Rescue of Aiden Vanta" (Cale 18, in the Wastes; ties him to Aiden). The Ghost Goes to Kordar (Cale 18, Thessaly 25; runs alongside the main story). Virex Caelum, "The Princesses and Virex Caelum" (Cale as Cipher, Talena 17; during the main series).
